The Hansberry Of The Sun
Hansberry was brought into the world in Chicago, Illinois, on May 19, 1930. Hansberry is the author of our play, A Raisin in the Sun, along with being the first play writer to be African American. Not only was Hansberry a writer, she was also an activist for civil rights. At the age of 34, Hansberry died of pancreatic cancer, leaving behind her wonderful play, A Raisin in the Sun.
