What it Means to be an American (A Discussion of what it means to be a True American)

"I 'm not going to quit. Why should I quit? This country is worth fighting for." Hillary Clinton said the thing that is always on many Americans ' minds. We are always complaining about the country not being the way that they want it to be, but maybe if we become true Americans, the country will be strengthened automatically. Maybe if we do all that we can to be the best version of an American possible, the country will become as strong as it can possibly be. Being an American is more than being born here or having a green card. It 's more than being white of Christian. It 's more than you job or your social status. Many people in the United States take being an American very seriously. Being an American means that you 're willing to do anything for your country, you believe in the constitution and the amendments, and you refrain from prejudice against others.

A big part of being an American is being willing to do anything for your country. Most people believe that this means being in the military. That it means that you have to be willing to die for your country, but that isn 't always the case. Being in the military is a great service. Men and women die all the time fighting for this country, trying to keep us safe. This is the greatest thing that an American can do for our country.
