Over fifty years ago, A. W. Tozer wrote, “We have these conditions in the churches today. I am talking to some of you right now who have been reared in Christian homes. You have been brought up in Sunday school. Still to this day, you are not right with God. Some of you have made a kind of halfway profession, but you have never been able to delight yourself in the Lord. I caution you that there are many people among us who are not ever going to get right with God, and the reason is that they will not humble themselves.”
In fact, this statement may apply to some of you who are reading this book. Although you may know the Gospel, you may be an avid student of the Scriptures, but still you are not converted in your mind, soul and spirit. Perhaps, you have been going to church for more than sixty years and you made a profession of faith as a child, but you are not saved from the influences of the world in order to walk in holiness before God as a man or woman. Maybe, you have lived your whole lifetime in the pursuit of worldly success and joys. You never made God, Lord and King over your life and you never obeyed him as He commanded. You never came to the end of yourself. You never died to self. Jesus said, “If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me”.
Because of all that the Son is, we have been given one blessing after another. Moses gave the Law, but Jesus brought us undeserved grace, which is the free unmerited love…
