The west egg and east egg symbolize two completely different sets of people, The west represented to aristocrats, the people with the social connections, and people who lavished themselves. Also most of the gossip happen on the west egg. Tom and Daisy lived on the west egg in there expensive home. Jordan the golf player who cheated in her tournaments spent time in the west egg. The east egg represents the new money and the modest crowd. Gatsby may have been rich but doesn’t act well in social events. Nick lived on the east egg and had a small house. Nick didn’t make as much money as Tom and others living on the west egg.

The eyes of doctor tj eckleburg in the novel symbolize God. The eyes are always watching over all that happen. Even the character hit toward the eyes symbolizing God, “Standing behind him, Michaelis saw with a shock that he was looking at the eyes of Doctor T. J. Eckleburg, which had just emerged, pale and enormous, from the dissolving night. “God sees everything,” repeated Wilson” (Fitzgerald 159-160). The eyes are set in the wasteland.
