The Safety Of A Crane Operator Essay
The job role of being a Crane Operator consists of using lifting machinery in order to move loads that are too heavy to be lifted manually. To be a Crane Operator you need to have the correct training that enables you to take on the job role. This will be inductions to the machinery that is going to be used along with the techniques used to do so. If the job that requires a crane to be used isn’t carried out correctly then it can make the job dangerous as it will increase the risk of injury due to the procedure not being done correctly. It is vital that correct equipment is used for the job to lower the chance of a dangerous encounter along with the operator having the required training before starting the job.
The legislations that cover the job role of being a Crane Operator that I have chosen are Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulation 1998, Personal Protective Equipment at Work Regulation 1992, Fire Precaution Act 1971, Working at Height Regulation 2005 and Control of Noise at Work Regulation 2005.
