There are many professions in which I have been looking into for a career. I originally attended Carroll College in hopes of getting a degree in biology, taking the Medical College Admissions Test applying at a few medical schools and hopefully be accepted at the University of Washington. Much has changed in my life since my freshman year, and so have my aspirations. My motives are still the same as they were when I first came to Carroll; I still want to go into the medical field in order to help people, but many challenges have presented themselves to me in recent years, namely finances, stress and motivation. The more I looked into Medical schools the more overwhelming it seemed, and the less confident I have become in conquering my original plan. In the past two years I began to take on different aspirations and looked at other professions within the health profession. I have already devoted many hours in the field by getting certified as an Emergency Medical Technician and Nursing Assistant, and working as a CNA and enjoy all of it. Because of my adoration for the health profession, I am still going to be taking the MCAT within the year, but have looked elsewhere as a backup. Currently I have been looking into the field of Orthotics and Prosthetics, and have become enamored by it. It seems to fit into many of the qualities that I am looking for in a future career.
