The “ American Dream” for immigrants and citizens is to buy their dream house, car, stable job and go on their tropical vacation. The American Dream can mean different things to many people. The main reason why people come to America; they want financial freedom and to have a better life for their future families. But the question is if all immigrants or even American citizens can achieve their “American Dream” regardless their race or class? There are a new research on mobility that shows that there less mobility but more believes. Witch means rich getting richer and poor tend to stay poor. However, people who work hard and put their attention in to their thought they can pursue their “American Dream” regardless their race, immigration status or class. People all kind of races in Unites States have an equal opportunities to achieve their dreams. Yearly thousand of immigrants arriving to United States to pursue a better life because only in America, the most diverse country, everyone given a chance to succeed. For example in the article “Fifteen Years on the Bottom Rung” author Antony DePalma discusses the Idea of “America, the land of opportunity” by comparing the stories of Juan Peralta, a Mexican immigrant, and Johns Zannikos, a Greek immigrant. Both immigrants started from nothing. Unfortunately only one of them succeeded, Johns Zannikos work his way all way up, working very hard.
