3. Preface
3.1 Introduction
The climate is changing. The earth is warming up, and there is now overwhelming scientific consensus that it is happening, and human-induced. With global warming on the increase and species and their habitats on the decrease, chances for ecosystems to adapt naturally are diminishing. Many are agreed that climate change may be one of the greatest threats facing the planet. Recent years show increasing temperatures in various regions, and/or increasing extremities in weather patterns. The environmental issue become more and more concerned by every individual in this world, that would arise concept of sustainibility.
The definition of sustainability has never been in a concensus. There are over 500 definitions which has led to much confusion (Phillips, 2003). Brundtland Commission (1987) on Warren (2009) states that: “Sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs”. This definition is also similar to KPMG
