Facebook, a popular free social networking website that allows registered users to create profiles, upload photos and videos, send messages and keep in touch with friends, family, and colleagues, is accessed worldwide.(Rouse and Ashly) Controversy has followed this social media for the past years. Crucial situations have tailgated Facebook resulting in outrageous scandals. A diversity of people have been affected emotionally and physically. Online websites in total are dangerous and can be very treacherous. Social media, or in another word the Internet, are helpful resources to increase connections, but occupy too much time taking one away from reality. Also, people find it more convenient to swiftly click “like” or “post” instead of taking literal actions. Facebook in general is not damaging but how the users utilize the site is when it can become hazardous. In an article by Joaquin Linne, a scholarship investigator of the National Science and Technical Commission of Argentina, the reasons behind why adolescents spend as much time as they do on Facebook was analyzed by 30 interviews, 24 months of daily virtual observation. The analysis of 200 profiles on Facebook from adolescents in Buenos Aires City, help support Mr. Linne’s evidence.(189) Linne mentions how they observed middle class and lower class people, stating that in most materials they are distinguishably different.
