Mean Girls was a movie made in 2000 that depicted high school life for a girl who had been previously sheltered. The main character is Cady Heron, a new student who had previously been homeschooled. We experience high school from Cady’s point of view as her thoughts narrate what we see. When Cady arrives at her new school she is automatically made aware of the way things work, courtesy of Janis Ian and Damien. Janis informs Cady by telling her about Freshmen, ROTC Guys, Preps, JV Jocks, Asian Nerds, Cool Asians, Varsity Jocks, Unfriendly Black Hotties, Girls Who Eat Their Feelings, Girls Who Don’t Eat Anything, Desperate Wannabes, Burnouts, Sexually Active Band Geeks, The Greatest People You Will Ever Meet, and The Worst. Beware of The Plastics.(Lang) Lastly they Talk about Regina George, the most popular plastic at school. Janis was out casted from being Regina’s closest friend when they were younger; Regina also spread a rumor that Janis was a lesbian. Cady is eventually noticed by Regina George, and is offered a spot in her clique. Janis sees this as an opportunity to get back at Regina, and Cady agrees to help. Soon Janis begins plotting and teaching Cady how to infiltrate the Plastics and ruin Regina George. However, the longer Cady is involved in Regina’s group, the more her values and actions begin to change. Eventually Cady is so obsessed with the Plastic, she ends up ruining her relationships with Janis, Damien, her parents, teachers, and even the plastics.…
