Motivational Methods
Managers are responsible for a variety of tasks within their organization. One of the most important roles of a manager/leader is to encourage and motivate their employees to perform to the best of their ability for the success of the organization especially when changes occur. The upper management within our organization has decided that the department must be downsized; therefore we will need to begin preparing our teams for the changes that will be happening. As managers, it is important to understand various motivational methods to lead and implement changes that may occur within the organization. It does not take much, but by making an effort to show your employees some gratitude or appreciation, you can make them feel valued within your company. Another way to create this motivating environment is to listen actively to your employees that you are leading. Each member of your staff has different thoughts, opinions and views on any given issue or scenario. Having a manager allow them to voice new ideas can encourage personal value and want to the team. When considering and enacting on these various thoughts, tasks and goals a manager have all the tools to create a positive work environment to help motivate those individuals who work so hard to bring success to your organization.
Better Health Benefits There are many motivational techniques employed by organizations, the idea of a happy employee making a better employee is quite real. Health care benefits can be a deciding factor even when considering a job opportunity. According to Aetna (2015), “Total health care spending in the United States is expected to reach $4.8 trillion in 2021, up from $2.6 trillion in 2010 and $75 billion in 1970.” This rise in health care cost has been a major concern for the everyday employee especially with the new Affordable Care Act laws put into place by President Obama. Health care is now a necessity for every American and is punishable by fines for all who do not have it.
