Job Satisfaction: The Importance of Passion and Motivation, as they Apply to Professionals in the Technology Industry In 2013 the Tech Industry was the rated by Payscale as the overall most stressful industry to work in,(Business Insider, 2013), yet in the same year most Tech Employees were able to find some form of job satisfaction. It may seem strange, but it makes sense when you are able to understand why people often go into tech as a career: it’s all about passion for those dedicated to technology. A study of two thousand people in the tech sector by IT Career Finder found that it is passion for technology, and a love for the challenges presented by technology that were most important to employees, (2013). Yet in the Information Technology (IT) job market, it seems that there can never be enough employees to satisfy all available positions, it becomes an employer 's most important responsibility to ensure job satisfaction among skilled employees. Long term employment is key to having a successfully run IT department. Experience in the environment is the only way to prepare anyone to know how to handle the many problems which exist in Network security.
