The Gender Wage Gap and Pay Equity
Pay Gap is Because of Gender, Not Jobs History always seems to repeat itself but, the history of the world we live in shows discrimination in many shapes and many forms. It has been a constant battle from the beginning of time, women and men have had an imbalance of earnings, employment, and education. Isn’t it strange that woman who are equally prepared as well as educated and not to mention have just as much experience (maybe even more) are not being equally paid. “The American Association of University Women” is releasing a new study that shows “When men and women attend the same kind of college, pick the same major and accept the same kind of job, on average, the woman will still earn 82 cents to every dollar that a man earns” (Coleman, 2002). The world we live in shows its biased attitude that concludes women are meant to be just mothers and homemakers. This is why this paper is concentrated on the gender pay gap, showing how the models and history has had an important factor to this phenomenon. What will be explained throughout this paper is the research I’ve gathered by the authors and their articles. Literature
