Domestic Violence is one of the issues affecting so many people in relationships both men and women. It also has a powerful effect on the children in the family. Nearly three-quarters of children measured at risk by social service are living in houses where one of their parents or careers is abusing the other (Women s Aid Organization). According to Women s Aid Organization domestic violence can include a number of different behaviors and there is no a single criminal offense of domestic violence, obvious not all of forms of domestic violence are illegal. However many kind of domestic violence constitute a criminal offence which includes wounding, attempting to choke ,sexual assault, threats to kill, rape, harassment and putting people in fear of violence. There are some changes on how people view domestic violence and many improvements have been done it terms of legislation in the 20th century. In this assignment will look at what ways has attitude changed towards domestic violence and what development have been made to legislation since 2000.
