Dating and Sex among College Students

Dating and Sex should be seen as an intertwined idea in society, but in today’s world and in the college world specifically these two ideas have different meanings and are practiced at different times. In order to prove my point I will have to conduct an experiment in which I discover two variables, alcohol and co-ed dorms, and through these variables I hope to achieve a conclusion that sex and dating are two different concepts when it comes to college students. Another variable would be the concept of co-ed dorms. When college students live inside of the dorms it becomes their home and apart of their life. The people inside of the building become closer and see each other on a daily basis. To prove this idea I would have to interview males and females who coincided inside of the dorms and ask them wheatear; Does living in the dorms promote more interactions between the people who live inside them, or what do you believe is the easiest way to meet and interact with new people. With these questions it helps with a better understanding of what people personally believe is the easiest way to meet new people. So with this I believe that co-ed dorms lead to more relationships and dating then just random hook-ups with people you don’t like. Another way I would go about my research on this topic would be to conduct field research in order to see if my theory was correct. I would first go inside of multiple co-ed dorm buildings and see how the males and females interact with each other. I would sit inside of the common area of most buildings during a busy time of day and see how people interact. After this I would then go to a hang out spot where both sexes converse with each other and see how this differs from the relationship between the people inside of the co-ed dorms.
